Welcome to Escalera
Rooted in equity, creativity, and authentic connection, Escalera Academy, LLC is an innovative education initiative committed to cultivating a village of support where students, educators, and education advocates can access guidance, resources, and high-quality programming.
The name Escalera—meaning “ladder” or “stairway” in Spanish—symbolizes growth, progress, and elevation. We believe learning should be a pathway upward, built step by step to support exploration, empowerment, and community transformation.
Core Program
The KES Program (Kinesiology, Engineering, and Sustainability)
Our pilot initiative, the KES Program, blends STEAM learning, outdoor education, and the recreation industry.
Students engage in hands-on exploration that connects classroom learning with real-world applications, local career pathways, and opportunities in higher education.
By combining movement, environmental science, and engineering principles, KES helps students develop a fresh perspective on STEAM careers, one that values people, communities, and the planet.

We believe that education is most powerful when it uplifts the whole community. We’re starting small, but thinking big, with a focus on local impact and building sustainable partnerships with schools, families, and community members.
